An overview of the Department of Jurisprudence and its origins:

Teaching at the Department of Jurisprudence and its Origins began with the launch of the School of Shariah in 1971, and it was named Jurisprudence and Legislation, and the department continued to bear this name until the academic year 1994/1995, when it was chosen to be called Jurisprudence and its Origins.
